New york rovers 2 Great moor county 1 A game between two sides struggling at the moment which hopefully would give both teams a bit of inspiration and make for a good encounter and so it turned out that way ! Into the 1st half and it turned out to be a half of both teams battling for some sort of superiority ! with Great moor settling into a better rhythem than new york and being the more dominant side midfieldwise but with no end result and not much threat around the 18 yrd box....with new york fighting to get some sorta rhythem going there selves and not that threatening up front.....to be honest both goalkeepers had nothing to do and hardly touched the ball in the first half !with great moor having more possesion but no threat up front HT 0-0 Into the second half and the game started off in the same fashion with both teams fighting for every ball ! new york were now at least on a level footing possesion wise with both goalkeepers now being called upon to deal with half chances ! on 55mins new york decided to put pacey players on the wings and started to ask questions of great moor and it payed off on 60 mins when a corner at the expence of some good wing play rewarded new york with a goal by james lewis ! 1-0 to new york that seemed to wake one or two of our players up coz as much as great moor were still a threat they now had to deal with a new york side which were starting to give them problems down the flanks ! and on 68 mins again from some good wing play and a ball pulled back just inside great moors box ! new york by way of josh lewis went 2-0 up with a great finish past there stranded keeper.....shouts of offside from great moor but cant say it was or wasnt ! But you new that somehow this might not be a big enough lead with ten minutes to go because great moor had not given up and were still causing problems with the more direct ball down the middle........and with 5 mins left a ball up through the middle found a great moor player who swept it out to a right sided player who then when right for goal and with the help of there oncoming forward managed to get the last touch psat our oncoming defenders into the net ! 2-1 to new york with 5 mins left......great moor tried there utmost to get the equaliser but new york were hitting them down the wings and had a couple of chances to increase the score maybe ! full time and a win for new york in a even game overall ! a draw would of been the right result for both teams today but new york stuck to policy of never giving up ! and on that basis a well earned victory which no one deny us !....Yes it was tough on great moor given they put a lot of effort with no return PS i just thought the shouting and constant appeals to the ref does not help any team or the ref especially in the case of one or two great moor and new york players......good luck for the rest of the season great moor ! and well done new york......especially to the players that turned up today about 8 of em ! |

Bollington united 0 New york rovers 3 After 2 or 3 posponements of a rearranged fixture against bollington at home ! we finally got to play then first time of asking in the way fixture ! and what a game it turned out to be ! given that a impartial random ref was employed at the last minute ! unfortunately he had a bad day and the game hit boiling point coz he never did gain control of what was a cracking even game between to good honest footballing sides ! both managers agreed he ruined a good encounter.Anyway to the games itself ! this game started at high tempo with both sides threatening to score ! new york had the wind against them and were kicking up hill....so it made it slightly more tiring , but we stuck to the task well ! competing well in midfield and coping at the back with a new formation and also trying two of our midfielders at the back ! in the 1st 20 mins we had 3 great chances to score but there defending was superb ! bollington also had a couple of attemps cancelled out in a evenish first half H-T 0-0 ! id made 2 subs just before half time ! so we started the second half with the same side and new york were now getting a hold in the game although we were being contained by the bollington back 4 , something was going to happen and on the hour ! mark fletcher on of our subs recieved and controled a pass on the 18yrd line and calmly put the ball away with a class finish ! 1-0 to new york on 60 mins ...... we now settled into a 10 min period wherer we were really threatening bollington and on 65 mins jake macormick ran onto a ball outside the left hand side of there box and beat one of there defenders rounded the keeper and slotted it home " 2-0 to new york ! maybe slightly unfair on bollington who had defended great throughout the game ! but bollington were still dangerous as they had been all thru the game ! and on 70 mins they got the ball down our left side and crossed it in " just inside the box and one of there players nearly scored a fantasic first time volley into the roof of the net ! i must admit it was the fastest i have ever seen a ball travel .and if you had blinked you would have missed it but luckily it smashed against the post "phew" ! we had to be careful coz bollington were really having a go it was end to end stuff with missed chances at both ends ! but then on 73 mins ! anthony fletcher who had just come on picked the ball up around 35yrds out and smashed a corker which hit the upright and went in ! another great strike and 3-0 to new york ! but with seven mins to go the tackles started to fly in and the ref had lost control ! which caused a free for all fight in the middle of the pitch aswell as a spectator off there touchline wading in ! it resulted in the game being halted and a threat of abandonement ! with one of our players being sent off who had nothing to do with the incident ! that summed the ref up unfortunately ! anyway 7 mins to go and the game settled down with no further incident .........full time and New york had earned a great 3-0 victory against a big strong bollington side who had only been beaten twice this season ! maybe the scoreline flattered new york in some ways but i dont think anyone could deny us victory in a close game throughout....good luck for the rest of the season bollington and well done new york and back to some sort of decent football ! |

New york rovers 1 Whaley bridge juniors 0 I suppose being without your keeper, best striker, and best defender ! you could make a case for calling it a day coz this is not good times at new york ! but thats how it is at the moment ! anyway in a scrappy but competitive game this was by far the worst performance ever by new york " even beating the bad one against bramhall county last year in the first half . anyway to the game . new york got out the traps well with a goal from a corner kick by z gray after 3 mins ! great start...but thats about all we managed to do right throughout the game ! whaley bridge were playing the better passing game and new york were just waiting for the ball as seems to be the case these days ...and with that a equaliser was on the cards ! but luckily for us it did not happen ! whaley were the more comfortable on the ball for rest of 1st half ! with new york still trying to get into there rhythem...whaley bridge had one or two half chances likewise new york ! but nothing to write home about with both teams equally pressurising each other and cacelling out threats on goal ! new york kept the 1-0 lead upto h-t ! with whaley maybe the better side in the 1st half without creating! Into second half the game became more equal but whaley still playin the better football while new york were struggling to get a grip with there own game ..whaley bridge had 1 or 2 good chances to score ! having two attemps cleared off the line ! while new york threatened but fizzled out in and around there box. On 60 mins will our goalkeeper pulled of a great save to deny whaley bridge ! then right away new york did manage to break thru on goal with there keeper clearing a 50/50 ball away and from the throwing we created havoc in whaleys box with callun niell just inches wide with a attemp from outside the box ! a late goal looked on the cards but luckily it did not happen and new york ran out 1-0 winners ! new york tried everything but just was not at the races....new york only breached whaleys defence 3 times with there goal keeper coming to the rescue ! PS" in summing up our strengh as a passing side getting wide has all but gone ! we now seem to be playing as individuals trying to take players on " when its far easier to pass.....we are now becoming lazy in our attitude to the game and players are becoming so selfish and playing a game alien to what new york were once good at last season and the first 5 games this season ! we wont win many more games on this performance if any at all coz were not playing how we used to anymore ! the commitment of some of our players is now a big problem even at this level in this state were hard to beat but these teams are stronger than last year in the sense theres more of them ! there no better ! but the difference is when your not on your own game you will be punished.....not a good combination to have !new york now need to go out and enjoy the rest of the season given any sorta success we might of had a chance of could go pretty quickly on this performance a fortunate win will not be good enough to sustain our title ambitions on this evidence! good luck to whaley for rest of season. This game was a good game to watch dont get me wrong ..with both teams playing or trying to play in our case ! good honest football......so cmon new york and lets get back to what we were once good at coz we have the same players but maybe not the passion or heart anymore....so lets get it back and start winning by playing good honest passing football and enjoy the run in....... |

New york rovers 0 Bramhall north 2 This was a cruel loss with no disrespect to bramhall ! we were expecting a tougher game against a big strong side given our last encounter at there place and the threat they put up in attack ! but to be honest that did not materialise today with bramhall only producing the odd attack....even so they were committed throughout a lacklustre game with New york the more threatening throughout the game without getting into gear ! we just fizzled out in and around there area with to many players waiting for the ball along with some unbelievable misplaced passing ! even with only a handfull of players trying and the rest somewhere else....new york sould of been at least a couple up ! 0-0 H-T......Into the second half same as no real threats or pressure from bramhall, with new york still trying to get some rhythem into there game and still the more likely of the teams to score !! out of the blue a free kick from bramhall found its way through new yorks defence to a bramhall via a poor attempted clearance ! 1-0 to bramhall on the hour , even then we had time to get going and try to get back in the game scorewise... but not today coz 5 mins later a terrible mixup by our keeper and defence gifted bramhall a second 2-0 to bramhall ! we carried on having half chances with the odd good one...and several near miss shots with there keeper making two good saves..full time 2-0 to bramhall....apart from the obvious of not scoring and letting two goals in....how we lost this game is beyond me ! even with our team half asleeep we shoud have won this game today if we'd had any sorta luck with the final ball and shots we treatened with . But to be fair bramhall played nothing like they did in the first fixture either ! except they did what new york cant do at the moment when the football aint going right for you " and that his keep calm and make sure you finish any chances you might get ! so on that basis a deserved victory by bramhall and good luck for the rest of the season bramhall !.....And to new york ? this team were there for the taking today and we failed miserably ! lets get back to what were good at coz we seem to have forgot where our strengh is, as team and not a bunch of individuals like were playing at the moment !!!! |

Great moor county 3 New york rovers 1 Difficult times for new york at the moment with a squad shrinking by the week and a temporary new goalkeeper in place and only one sub to call on ! The last thing we needed was a indifferent refereeing performance which we unfortunately had in this game ! But even so with the players we have New york should of put in a better performance today than they did ! we just seemed to be all over the show with nothing going right decision wise ! having said that great moor county played some good football down the flanks ! while new york just huffed and puffed ! anyway to the game and great moor took the lead after 1 min with slack defending but no reason to panic coz almost right away we should of levelled but we were pulled up for a infringemant in the box which i couldnt make out and zak greys goal was dissalowed a couple of mins later ! both teams were involved in a even type game but great moor looked the more dangerous and from our own corner kick and where for some reason 8 players including the corner kick taker were planted inside the great moor box and not being mindful of a counter attack ! well no need to say what happened coz they hit us on the break 5 against 2 and scored a easy goal " 2-0 to great moor after 20mins slghtly unfair on new york at this stage ! but we were still unconcerned because we were attacking great moor down the flanks and only a matter of time surely ! but sadly the ref was calling new york offside everytime we tried to make inroads into great moor countys box inbetween the 2 goals and what seemed therefore after ! but the team were so intent on scoring it did pull us out of positions which did not help our cause bigtime ! With our holding midfielders choosing to play as strikers and the wingers camped in the middle ! again to many men forward caught on the break ripped to shreds down the wing " two against one 3-0 great moor at half time and shell shocked ! theres no doubt in our minds awful decisions by the ref had stopped new york scoring in the first half with at least 4 or 5 nailed on goal scoring chances but what can you do and not to mention the dissallowed goal for offside from kickoff ! Into the second half and new york did get a goal back on 60 mins with some cracking wingplay down the right where anthony fletcher latched onto a ball about 25yrds out and looped the keeper 3-1 and maybe the tide turning ! we might lost control of our natural game going more at times coz the ref wasnt giving us any leeway and right from the kick off a long ball down the middle was picked up by james lewis who slotted it into the net back to 3-2 " haha offside so the ref said and no goal ! FROM KICK OFF do me a favour ref and new york ripped off again and still down 3-1 having scored 2 perfect goals which were dissalowed ! somwhow this wasnt going to be our day ! new york were frusterated and were trying anything and everything but to no avail and i cant blame them really.... at this point 15 mins left in the game new york with still threatening great moor bigstyle with them hitting us on the break moreb! but the ref was pulling new york up for silly things and offsides like no tomorrow ! But to new yorks testament and for the last 15mins a handful of our players did get back to what we are all about as a team But this ref for some reason wasnt allowing us to compete fairly in our view because we had the ball in the net again from a goal mouth scramble on 70mins no goal and the lads were up in arms " but we were at the refs mercy who seemed intent on ruining and did ruin the game! a disgusting show of bad reffing and 3-1 to great moor at final whistle and they earned there goals fairly which is why we were beaten and i have no problem with great moor county they deserved it on that basis ! but i do have a problem with the referee ( jack wharton )because i thought he for some reason had it in for us ! only to find out after the game he went to school with most of my players and was in the year above and maybe explains the 3 goals he dissalowed and why he continuely called us offside! Definately bad feeling there for sure. PS To the handful of players who chose to disrespect the team that had just beaten you ! hey they scored three perfectly good goals which was nothing to do with the ref ! grow up or follow the other players and leave ! i was fuming with the ref aswell but you just got to accept it ! New york are on the verge of folding due to matters off the field and lack of players on it ! and the refs performance today just increased that possabilty.....good look great moor for rest of the season ! PS and a terrible reffing performance to boot......... |

New york rovers 4 Reddish north end 0 After a great performance in the cheshire cup against wilmslow sports u/17s ! only losing out on penalties after dominating the game for most part last week this was going to be a interesting game given both teams are having problems player wise at the moment ! new york were down to just a bare eleven and one injured sub coz our only other player was unwell !...... anyway to the game new york went back to basics and what a breath of fresh air with our keeper back on board coz apart from the odd scare this was a good performance against a capable biggish reddish side... patience was the virtue today and on 20 mins ja lewis made a goal for himself by cutting in on the left side and and placing a curling low placed shot past the keepers left side 1-0 to new york ! we stayed calm and continued to feel our way rather than rush things ! and we could of scored 2 or 3 more before halftime but it wasnt to be ! reddish did have the odd half chance 1-0 to new york at H-T... into the second half same again steady play by new york with the few breakaways by reddish being snuffed out ! In fact reddish had made a couple of subs and these two players were causing us all sorts of problems and we had to be at our best to deal with them !but we were still more threatening then on 55 mins matt knowles ran onto a thru ball and calmly headed in over the keepers head 2-0 new york ! Then on 65 mins from a matt knowles corner......luke farrow scored a craking bullet header into the top left hand corner ! 3-0 to new york.......then with ten minutes to go danny bates made a chance outta nothing inside the box and calmly slotted past a stranded keeper ! 4-0 to new york...in between the last 2 goals reddish did have a couple of great chances to score in our box but it was not there day today ! a 4-0 scoreline did not do justice to reddishes commitment ........the game was a bit closer than that but not enough to deny new york a well earned victory and stop the rot ! good luck to reddish for the rest of season and hope you get your probs sorted out .PS i know we have probs at the moment only 13 players in all ! but a great backs to wall performance today well done lads ! and lets keep focused coz as a team were are still prooving we can compete with teams who have by enlarge better individual players like last season and thats no disrespect and in fact a great compliment ! well done new york |

New york rovers 1 Wilmslow sports community u/17s 1 (2-5)pens cheshire cup 2nd rd ! On the face of it a tough game was on the cards today, playing a older age team for starters ! but what a game this was ! and there was nothing between the teams except the eventual scorline pens wise ! oh and if we had converted the hat full of chances we had in the first hour of the game we would of been home and dry ! to be honest we dominated the first hour of the game which was partly why we took a 1-0 lead after 25 mins whith a great finish by ja lewis ! apart from that goal and the fact we were caught offside about forty times in the first hour with us also putting relentless pressure on them ! thats how it stayed ! 1-0 to new york at half time. Into the second half the same as the first half.......but no return goalwise ! but wilmslow were slowly but surely getting back into the game ! but the equaliser was a cruel blow for new york .....which came for a free kick ! one which was taken quickly before the ref had finished sorting out the wall....anyway a cruel blow to us and our stand in keeper luke who made some belting saves ! 1-1 and maybe deserved for wilmslows resilience and never die attitude. our keeper did make some stupendous saves in the last ten mins to deny wilmslow a last minute win ! full time 1-1 sudden death and a unlucky defeat for new york today in what was there best ever performance. well done boys and good luck to wilmslow in the next rd ! |

New york rovers 1 Sandringham rovers 2 As was the same last season " nothing between the teams in a even match up . both strong at the back and threatening up to the box with both teams trying to find a way to goal. both were struggling to break the other down with if im correct ! only a twice was both defences breached by way of clear through on goal ! with both keepers making point blank saves ! the closest anyone came to scoring in the first half was danny bates with a great shot that beat the keeper and hit the bar . 0-0 HT . same as in the second half no team being able to get on top pressure wise ! something had to give somewhere ! and on the hour sandringham took a 1-0 lead with a a shot inside the box through a wall of players " keeper had no chance ! it was going to be tough to get back a goal given the first hour ! but sure enough a couple of minutes later ! new york from a free kick put there goalie under pressure and danny bates put a well placed shot in the six yard box to the keepers right 1-1 ! both teams then went for bust being mindful of conceding at the same time! new york then thought they had took the lead when again danny bates lobbed there oncoming keeper .only for there defender to scramble back and kick it off the line !! then with 10 mins to go sandringham had a corner and scored with a great headed finish past our stranded goalie ! 2-1 to sandringham ! new york tried everything to pull it back but sandringham stood strong and time ran out ! full time 2-1 to sandringham in a clean and competitive game of footy ! like the other games a draw would of been fair result ! but we have no complaints about defeat coz sandringham earned there win ! unlucky new york but gettin back to what were about even without our normal keeper ! PS good reffin performance " and good luck to sandringham for the rest of the season ...... |

Rycroft rangers 4 New york rovers 2 Here we are again 4 wins outta 4 and due to play a team who were in the 1st div last season and have started well this season ! surely tempting enough to get you outta bed ! not new york. again players not turning up left us with one sub against a strong squad of about 18 players ! thanks lads....anyway back to the game !outgunned and out numbered as simple as that and no excuses the better side won on the day given they were playing a very week new york team ! but even with a weakened squad the chances we squandered especially one on one in the second half was criminal ! in a nutshell rycroft got on top in the last 15 mins of the first half and first 10 mins in second half ! up until then they were kept at bay reduced to shots outside the box ! new york did create two gilt edged chances in between but could not finish em , while rycroft scored with agift gaol from slack defending then scored a cracking shot outside the box 2-0 to rycroft at H-T and undeserved maybe on balance of play. into the second half and rycroft started to pressure us all over the pitch and creating some good chances in first ten mins with new york reduced to breakaway attacks ! after 55 mins rycroft had doubled there lead to 4-0 with some bad teamwork by us and great play by them ! but then for the last 25 mins we woke up and started to make inroads . we must of created 8 or 9 gilt edged one on ones but there keeper was equal to the task !although rycroft were still creating the odd chance new york had them on the rack ! not finishing our chances was going to be the factor in this game ! we did manage to score 2 goals in our onslaught of the rycroft net with some great play to little to late final result 4-2 to rycroft ! the damage was done in the 1st half with no way back today. a well deserved victory by a well organised side ! we were second best today and very poor. PS, id like to say well done to ian the manager of rycroft who reffed the game great ! good luck to rycroft for the rest of the season ! and new york need to sort themselves out on and off the field " because the casual lazy attitude of several of our players stinks , and lets the rest of the team down bigtime ! you know who you are and so do everyone who watches the games....and if your not interested leave ! |

Whaley bridge juniors 0 New york rovers 2 new york awarded a default away win on the grounds of a late cancellation by the away side ! and there refusal to switch the fixture to new yorks home ground having already agreed to if there were difficulties with whaley bridges own pitch " which unfortunately for them happened in the case of there pitch was unplayable ! |

Bramhall North 1 New York Rovers 2 Again a game against a relagated side and what tough game this was ! this was by far the toughest league game in new yorks short history,we faced a big side in stature and a team that gives nothing away at the back ! at no time in the game did new york get on top of bramhall...but we fought as best we could to carve out one or two chances ! and on 25 mins new york took the lead with a great finish by danny bates 1-0 to new york and deserved on there sheer effort ! but bramhall carved out one or two chances of there own ! but the game stayed tight and 1-0 to new york at half time ! we started the second half the way we finished the first ! but you new bramhall were going to cause us problems.then on 50 mins a great shot outside the box from bramhall produced a deserved equaliser 1-1 1 the game stayed tight with chances being snubbed out at both ends ! then luke farrow recieved the ball down the right wing and put a crackin pass through to matt knowles " who held there defender off and finished a great move into the left side of the net 2-1 to new york on the hour ! bramhall were still creating problems and dangerous half chances ! as was new york we dicided to bring players back for the last 5 mins and hold on ! which is what we did ..full time whistle and a hard earned victory in a tough clean game. PS good luck to bramhall north who will feel hard done by ! but im sure they will start winning soon on this performance ! and well done to new york for there never say die attitude ! PS this was a tough game against a side who know how to stop you playing by closing you down and getting plenty of men behind the ball ! i noticed a couple of new york players were not up for it today and were carried by the rest of the team ! we need full commitment on the pitch and off it ! |

New York Rovers 5 Wilmslow sports 1 Unfortunately after last weeks game ! 2 new signings by new york have had second thoughts and chose to leave ( one with a serious achilles injury ) its a shame but im not surprised given the nature of last weeks introduction into jfl football ! so back to the same squad as last year with one new addition. Anyway to a game between a relegated side and a promoted side was always going to be a test of sorts ! and so it turned out that way........in a even 1st half where both sides played some nice football it was a case of missed chances for new york and play to the refs whistle wilmslow ! both sides were threatening throughout the 1st half ! with new york maybe carving out the better chances ! but wilmslow carved out a few chances themselves ! and it was new york who were made to pay through stopping play without the refs whistle from a corner 1-0 down and stunned after 20 mins of matching wilmslow who i suppose were good for there lead given they had threatened to score on a couple of occasions ! but this was the signal for new york to wake up and take nothing for granted ! and from 20 mins onwards new york stepped up a gear and completely dominated the game ! on 30 mins matt fed danny who finished a cracking move into the net 1-1 ! then 30 secs later " yes 30 seconds matt again had a shot blocked and danny moved in with a clinical finnish 2-1 to new york, then james latched onto a ball just outside the box and hit a wicked curling shot into the top left hand corner 3-1 to new york at H-T ! second half we carried on where we left off creating chance after chance but matt wasnt going to score today no matter what he did ! but then on 50 mins zak gray made it 4-1 to new york with a soft shot just inside the right hand post ! then on the hour luke pressured a defender from a free kick by timing his run into the box ! not sure whether it was a own goal ........but credited to luke for the sheer effort and well timed run 5-1 to new york ! in the last 20 mins new york could and should of doubled there lead but it wasnt to be and new york ran out deserved winners in the end full time 5-1 to new york !! PS in summing up the game.....wilmslow will only get better coz they had us for a fleeting moment in this game and on another day may of held on to there initial 1-0 lead ! they are a strong side and good luck to wilmslow in the future> and a great refereeing performance in a great game of clean honest football ! well done new york |

Hillgate Boys 0 New York Rovers 5 this was always going to be a test it being 1st game in a higher div ! and so it was for the 1st half, in what was a awful display of home reffin you would ever want to see ! hillgate are a strong side physically and dont give you a min on the ball ! but some of the challenges and tackling did not belong on a football field and the ref ! who by the way was the managers brother did nothing to stop it and unfortunately one of his own players in his eagerness to take one of our players out actually injured one of his own players ! although we were having most of the possesion we just could not get into a flowing game and were constantly called offside and wrongly in most cases ! we created a few half chances and a couple of one on ones but could not put them away.....hillgate were always a threat with the quick ball up and nearly caught us out on the brake a couple of times ! 0-0 at HT. Into the second half and a noticeable change of heart by the ref and a more even reffed game ! hillgate came at us giving us no time to settle on the ball which nearly resulted in a goal for hillgate ! but that was the signal for new york to step up a gear and ten mins later on 55 mins lee finished a good move off into the box with simple tap in for a deserved lead 1-o ! and on 60 mins ant fletch looped there keeper just inside the box 2-0 to new york and deserved on the balance of play ! we were now in the ascendency playing some great footy and opening hillgate up " and with which we carved out three great goals pulling hillgates defence all over the place. first L farrow on 65 mins made it 3-0 with some great linkup play with matt ! then micheal ireland made it 4-0 on 70 mins with a chance he created in the box ! then danny finished off the scoring with a well executed drive into the right corner on 72 mins ! 5-0 to new york at the full time whistle. summing up we introduced three new players to league football and new york rovers today and they played there part to the full ! hillgate are a physical team and nothing more than a bunch of thugs who ply there trade with the consent of there own managers refs & parents ! worst league team we have ever played by far on there 1st half performance.......they just could not get to grips ( literally) with a team who know how to play good football ! we got going in the second half when allowed to ! Im guessing home reffin is going to be more evident this season , but we weathered the storm....and great start to the new season by new york ! who with patience and good honest easy clean football ! flew the flag for all thats good about the game and thrashed a set of thugs 5-1 in the process !
